About us
Data Display's beginnings date back to 1980 when the Company was incorporated as Textlite Ltd, an Irish subsidiary of a Dutch company specialising in the manufacture of single line LED moving message displays for the retail market.
1988 saw a management buyout by the Managing Director, hailing a change in the company's future direction. The new strategy concentrated on the design and manufacture of custom-built information displays, particularly for the public transport market. In 1991 the company name was subsequently changed to Data Display.
Following on from its success over the following year Data Display UK Ltd was established to serve the needs of the UK market more closely and in 1996 the company took over IGG Systems, a company heavily involved in the rail sector.
